Arise Healthcare Opens First Imaging Center in Far NW Austin

New Center Provides Mammograms with Immediate Results; Lowest dose CT scan available

Austin, Texas (January 14, 2014) – A fast-growing, local health care company has opened its first imaging center, called the Arise Riverplace Imaging & Women’s Center.

The center is located in the Medical Towers at River Place, a new medical office building located at 6611 River Place Blvd., off RM 2222 across from 3M. While the center serves patients of all kinds, it will have a particular focus on women’s health, and features a serene, spa-like environment.

Riverplace Imaging will provide MRIs (magnetic resonance imaging), CTs (computed tomography), ultrasounds and mammograms. As a distinctive service, the center will provide personalized breast screen mammography and ultrasounds – featuring an immediate discussion with a radiologist about the results. It also offers a low-dose CT scan, the FDA-approved SafeCT software, which enhances patient safety by reducing radiation exposure by up to 50 percent.

“Everything about this center has been designed with patients’ comfort, safety and general well-being in mind,” said Dr. Joshua Lucas M.D., medical director of the center and lead radiologist.

Riverplace Imaging is part of the Arise Healthcare brand of companies. It is wholly owned and operated by Arise Austin Medical Center, Arise Healthcare’s Austin hospital.

“We perform the types of services that people appreciate having close to home, and we’re excited about the opportunity to conveniently serve the River Place, Steiner Ranch and other nearby communities,” said Diana Zamora, CEO of Arise Austin Medical Center.

Arise Austin Medical Center has named Eric Day its new vice president of ambulatory services to spearhead the new imaging division for the fast-growing company. In addition to Riverplace Imaging, Day will lead other centers that are on the horizon.

Day brings 20 years of industry experience, previously serving as the CEO of Infrahealth Group of Companies, vice president of operations for Baptist Health System and the administrator for The Center for Special Surgery @ TCA. He has been named one of “50 Great Administrators to Know” by Becker’s ASC Review, a prestigious industry news outlet, and won the Administrator of the Year award from Symbion in 2005. Day received a Bachelor of Science from the University of Texas at Austin in Kinesiology and an MBA from Troy University.

Arise Healthcare owns, manages, and develop healthcare facilities and healthcare-related businesses. Arise Healthcare’s leaders have received industry acclaim and the company was recently honored by the Austin Business Journal as one of the Top 50 Fastest Growing companies in the greater Austin area.
